Thanks to the Stelvio glacier, open from May to November, and to the High Valtellina ski area (220km of ski slopes) Bormio offers 12 month of guaranteed snow to all ski lovers.

The three Thermal centers, completely renewed, offer an enormous range of services unbeatable in the European alpine district.

Bormio is inserted in Stelvio national park, that is joined with the Swiss National Park. These create one of the most important and extended protected areas of the Alps. 800km of tracks are mapped with GPS and are a real dream for mountain bikers.

Above all it's one of the few ski resort where innovation is mixed with history, culture and ancient traditions. Thanks to the particular geographic position, Bormio has been a small indipendent state since 1355. The medieval history is told by the numerous churches, palaces, houses and towers. The first takeovers go back to the Bronze age. 4000 inhabitants live now all year round in Bormio and they render it a not just a vacation resort, but a village with its own life and tradition.
