Reaching 2760 metres in height, Stelvio is the highest pass in Europe.
It connects Alta Valtellina with Alto Adige.
Stelvio (a 20 minute car ride from Bormio) is the biggest summer skiing resort in Europe and is famous for it's breath taking views of the surrounding glaciers.
Skiing is open here from the end of May till the beginning of November and is closed during the winter due to bad weather conditions
and an impassable road.
20 km of ski slopes, 10 for beginners and 10 for intermediate, and a total of 6 ski lifts
maximum height 3450mt
12km for cross country skiing with 3 different pistes, one directly down at the pass and the others in the middle of the glacier's ski area.
The brand new technology of the new cable car going from the Stelvio pass to Trincerone must also be mentioned as the resort is very proud of it.
